In the expert hands of Mrs Hallsworth, our lead teacher for R.E., Year 6 have spent the half term learning about sacred texts from different religions.
Alongside the modern day bibles that are always included in the study, they had a look at a church bible from 1867 that made its way into school from Mrs Allen’s attic! It was a beautiful piece of history and provided insight into the language and print of its day as well as being quite a challenge to carry!
Sarim has also taught the class about the religious texts from his faith. He showed everyone a copy of the Qu’ran and demonstrated the reverence and respect Muslims show to their holy book, handling it with gloved hands.
