This week year 3 and 4 exhausted themselves during their stay at Mount Cook Adventure Centre! We faced many new and exciting challenges and for some experienced our first night away from home.

Over the two days each group got a chance to complete all four of the activities below. The low ropes course and zip wire pushed us out of our comfort zone and developed our ability to work in teams, spotting each other on the course to prevent falling into the very muddy surroundings! Orienteering developed our map reading skills and archery set the challenge of accuracy, we even hit some bullseyes!

After a yummy dinner of pizza or fish and chips followed by a HUGE bowl of sticky toffee pudding with custard, we enjoyed a campfire in the woods and even got the chance to make our own fire using flint which proved to be a lot more difficult than it looked – well done to those of you who managed it!

Overall, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you again to the staff who joined us on the trip, they were impressed with the children in their groups and we were praised by Mount Cook for having such polite and friendly children. We are certainly ready to catch up on some sleep over half term but as you’ll see from the photos, there were lots of smiling faces throughout…
