Welcome to the Willow Brook website. Whatever your reason for browsing, I hope that you get a real sense of our happy, hardworking school, where everyone is determined to make the primary years adventurous, successful and memorable for each and every child.
I was delighted to be appointed as Willow Brook’s headteacher. I consider it an honour to lead and work alongside such a dedicated team of talented teachers and to help shape the next phase of the school’s development.
Whatever may change and grow over future terms, we proudly hold on to our Five C’s, which form the bedrock of all that we design and deliver. Care is at the heart of the relationships between Willow Brook’s pupils and staff – everyone knows each other and looks after each other. Our older children play with, work with and help our younger children quite naturally and we place great value in promoting a sense of community and a supportive family atmosphere. Creativity sparks our curriculum, which responds to national initiatives and current global events as well as promoting high standards and academic achievement. We also make sure that we devote time to creative learning, building cross curricular thinking skills and encouraging self expression through music, drama and art. Extra-curricular events, a strong sporting programme and whole school visits and ventures add to our pupils’ growing confidence and encourage brave next steps. Commitment is the final aim and one we all share. Children are motivated and show determination to achieve their best, and staff and governors invest time and energy to make sure Willow Brook is a school where every child feels safe and valued so that their individuality and potential can be discovered and nurtured.
You will find out how we bring this to life in our web articles and information pages, but I would encourage you to come and visit us to find out more. It won’t take long for you to see why I am proud to be a part of Willow Brook – talk to our children and their teachers and see for yourself what makes our school special.
