Over the past few weeks Class R has had a wonderful time designing and creating their own superhero metropolis. We talked about the shape of buildings and the features of city skylines at night, before creating our own building. We constructed these using box modeling materials and use papier-mache to create a smooth finish on our building, ready for painting. Once dry, we painted our buildings in dark colours to represent the city and night, before adding bright colourful windows, which we arranged in linear patterns along our building. Here are the photographs of the children making their buildings and our finished city scene, once we had put them all together alongside some famous superheroes.
