The Headteacher is fully responsible for the day to day running of the school but the Governing Board works closely with the School’s Senior Management Team to support and act as a ‘critical friend’ to ensure that the school provides the best possible education and care for its children.
For a fuller introduction to the work of the Board, please see An Introduction to Governance at Willow Brook.
There are 4 types of governors on the Board:
Parent governors – elected by other parents at the school.
Staff governors – elected by other members of staff at the school.
Local Authority (LA) governors – appointed by LA.
Co-Opted governors – appointed by the Board as representatives of the wider community in which the school is based.

Through termly meetings, regular sub committees, school visits and staff liaison, our Board fulfils its core roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and evaluating school performance. Click here for more information about the committees.
By accepting their appointment, all governors have agreed to the school’s Governor Code of Conduct.
