We’ve had a wonderful day inspired by the book The Pirates Next Door. We have made our own pirate hats, tea-stained treasure maps and brought our role play to life with costumes and a pirate shop. We got creative at the easel and painted our own routes around pirate island and put our phonics skills into practice when we wrote our labels for ships, hills, rivers and mountains.
