Year 2 had a fantastic afternoon learning all about how to make a healthy sandwich. The children began by planning their designs and thinking carefully about which ingredients would help them create a balanced meal.
They then practised their food‑preparation skills, cutting cucumbers and tomatoes safely and grating cheese with great care. After preparing all the ingredients, the children assembled their sandwiches, choosing their favourite combinations and shaping them just the way they liked.
Once their sandwiches were completed, the children tasted them and carried out evaluations, thinking about what they enjoyed and what they might change next time.
It was a wonderful hands‑on learning experience and we were so proud of how sensible, focused and enthusiastic the children were throughout!
