Friday was Red Nose Day and Willow Brook found their ‘funny’ and had a terrific time!

Year 5 had been given the ‘bake the whole school a cookie’ project under the watchful eyes of Mrs. Armitage and Mrs. Hollingshead, which raised a whooping profit of £350! Year 6 did a grand job of selling tokens and counting the proceeds, and the rest of the school did a great job of eating their way through 250 biscuits!

There was (as always) singing! This week our theme captured the comedy and ended with an energetic rave. (Just to get us in the mood for the school disco!)

During the morning, there was a live joke book being created on Teams – each class had their own page and were enjoying the posts from other classrooms as they logged their own. Amongst the howlers (in my opinion!) were:

Evie’s “What did the shark say when he ate the clown fish?…. That tastes funny!”

Jonah’s “What do you call a pig that does karate?… a pork chop!”

Joy’s “I invented a new word today… plagiarism!”

Fabian’s “What do you call a belt made out of watches?… A waist of time!”

Jessica’s “What do you call a magic dog?… A labracadabrador!”

And Evelina’s “Why was the elephant asked to leave the swimming pool?… ”  but you’ll have to read the book to find the answer to that one!

Another happy Willow Brook day that taught a great deal that sometimes can’t be captured in a text book. Thank you for your support.
