Our girls chess team played in the first girls only Nottinghamshire chess league and performed very well indeed. Nearly all of the girls came away with some points and even those who didn't manage to create any checkmates, still had a great time and gained valuable tournament experience. I'm certainly very proud of them all!

It was that fun time of year again for Class 1 and Reception to pull on their wellies and go for a walk around Keyworth. We spotted how Autumn is changing our landscape, along with a little bit of autumnal mud! !

On Monday Class 1 and Reception got very excited when they voyaged on a coach all the way back to Medieval Sherwood forest. Here we met with Maid Marion and Robin Hood. We also spotted lots of wintry woodland treats along with learning about Christmas traditions from Medieval times. It was a cold, bright sunny [...]

I took eight elite children to play chess in the South Nottinghamshire chess tournament last night. Building on a fantastic start to the season earlier in the year, the boys played fantastically with wins across the board. Unfortunately our year six boys narrowly missed out on bronze medals, coming in fourth place over the two [...]

Our whole school topic this half term has inspired our children to empathise with the life of those who lived 100 years ago.  We have thought about the soldiers who once walked on Main Street... the children who played at the village school... the jobs that they did and the farmland that once surrounded us. [...]

Today has, indeed, been a fun-filled Yabba-Dabba-Doo day! Again, there’s a great community spirit on days where we are working together to support others. The playground always looks amazing when it’s full of costumes and smiles and today was no exception! From cavemen to veloceraptors, Pudseys to pyjamas… and even a prehistoric fire, the [...]

The girls played their first cup match of the year against Tollerton, who had already had a very successful start to the season. Our Willow Brook team took a while to get settled into playing away, with the wind in our faces and went two goals down before half time. After a little chat and [...]

21 children from years 1 and 2 went to take part in the athletics festival at Rushcliffe school. For many of these children it was their first time representing the school and taking part against other schools from the Rushcliffe area. The children were so proud to wear their kit like the older children do, [...]
