In Year 2 and 3, we have been having lots of fun testing our prototypes for our moving vehicles. Working in groups, we investigated seven different surfaces to find out which ones created the least and most friction. Before beginning our experiment, we made careful predictions about what we thought might happen. Then, we tested each surface and compared the results. It was a brilliant opportunity to work together, share ideas and develop our scientific thinking. The children showed fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm throughout — we had a great time exploring how friction affects movement and we can’t wait to build our final moving vehicles!
