Class R and Class 1 enjoyed the sunshine and great outdoors when they visited Rushcliffe Country Park. We travelled by coach (which some thought the most exciting part of the whole day!) to the park in Ruddington before splitting into 2 groups to complete activities based around fairy tales. One group went deep into the forest to reenact the story of Little Red Riding Hood before decorating our own wolf art using materials available to us in the forest. They then found a bridge that needed crossing…with a troll on the other side! This inspired the making of troll heads out of clay and natural materials. The other group were busy meeting a giant in a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk! They planted their own beans in Jack’s garden, made newspaper plant pots and were eagle eyed on an eye spy hunt. We had a picnic lunch altogether in a quiet corner of the park before swapping activities in the afternoon.

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers as well as the Willow Brook staff who made it possible. As you can see from the pictures, the children thoroughly enjoyed our day trip!
