Year 5 Science
In line with Science Week and our Darwin topic, class five have thrown themselves into performing an experiment about the rate at which ice melts when exposed to different temperatures and conditions. We considered how global warming might impact the world and what we could do to slow it down. In addition to this, we discussed how the President of the Maldives (Mohamed Nasheed) held a cabinet meeting about global carbon emissions underwater to highlight how pressing the issue is for the sea-level nation. Alongside this was some wonderful discussion and debates about methods to slow the release of greenhouse gases and what we can do as individuals to contribute.
Below are some photographs of the class recording, experimenting and evaluating their findings – enjoy looking at them.
