Years 5 and 6 were incredibly excited to have their residential experience at Mount Cook this week. For some this was their first ’proper’ residential. The children have had a fabulous time over three days. As you can see from the pictures, it was an action packed adventure and the children smiled and laughed throughout, as well as challenging themselves.

We enjoyed activities such as: High Ropes; Archery Tag; Land Karting; Team Puzzle Games; Rocket Building (and launching!); and so much more. Phew! As well as all those activities each day, the staff kept us well fed, watered and in excellent spirits with well-placed humour and enviable technical expertise to ensure everyone’s safety. In the evenings we all enjoyed some free time outside in the sunshine around campfires and watching the semi-final of the World Cup… oh dear. No wonder everyone was so tired when we got back after such a busy itinerary.

The staff from Willow Brook and Mount Cook were very impressed with the courteous and cooperative nature of the children and it made the whole trip a really pleasant and positive experience for everyone. The children slept well (especially the second night!) and really engaged with all the challenges different activities presented. They should really be proud of themselves! We are.

Finally, I would also like to place on record my sincere thanks to Mr. deMalplaquet, Miss. Adams, Mr. Boyd and Mr. Devenney for giving up their time so willingly to help organise, run and ensure such a successful residential for all involved. Without their support and expertise our residential would not nearly have been as excellent as it was.

I hope your children enjoyed the residential as much as we did; they have been a real credit to you.

Mr. Litchfield
