Class R, 1 and 2 took part in a mixed team scatterball tournament at school. We had 6 teams ready and raring to go on Monday afternoon and the light drizzle certainly didn’t dampen spirits (or stop play!).

The rules of scatterball are simple (and work as a great introduction for rounders later on in school life). You have a batting and a fielding team. The batting team takes it in turns to hit 3 tennis balls with their racquet as far and wide as possible. Once the final ball has been hit, the fielding time spring into action to return all 3 balls to the bowler. Meanwhile, the batter is running to score points before all the balls are collected.

There were some very close games and some impressive batting skills but there was one team that edged forward to win the tournament overall! A big thank you to Mr Clarke for organising a great afternoon of fun and competitive teamwork.
