Year 5 Science
Once again, the children in class five have astounded me with their brilliant minds. This time, they’ve applied themselves to the question of, ‘Which parachute would help you survive the fall?’ During our science lesson, the class assembled a range of parachutes, from 10cm squares to 40cm squares and dropped them from a consistent height. Timing, of course, had to be precise and we employed ‘fairness checkers’ to ensure no-one was able to fudge their results.
The children worked in small teams and verified their records by performing repeat experiments. As ever, I’ve attached some photos for you to view that hopefully capture the fun from the afternoon – enjoy!
