After looking at the book ‘The big Bad Wolf Investigates’, we talked about whether we could make a boat out of a Pumpkin for Cinderella.
Firstly, we felt the weight of the pumpkin and decided that it was quite heavy… would it be too heavy to float? The children made a prediction as to whether it would float or sink, and then we tested this in the water tray. Following that, we then cut the top off the pumpkin and found out that although it was heavy, it was quite hollow inside. The children then helped to hollow out the pumpkin even further before placing Cinderella and Prince Charming in there boats for their maiden voyage.
