Class 3 had a great time taking part in British Science Week last week.
We started the week by investigating Does taller mean faster?’ which provided some interesting results. On Tuesday, we set up two more investigations. For the first, we tested whether fresh and tinned pineapple affected how long the jelly took to set, and for the other we tested which liquids could be used to slow down apple browning. The results from our jelly investigation showed us that when using tinned pineapple, the jelly did set, however, with fresh pineapple it did not. In the apple browning investigation we concluded that most liquids (apart from vinegar) slowed down the browning process. On Wednesday, we made water clocks and the challenge was to make a water clock that measured exactly 1 minute, 2 minutes or 3 minutes. To end the week we had a visit from Captain Connection. In Class 3 we were investigating ‘Do boys balance better?’ Despite some excellent balancing from both the boys and the girls, we came to the conclusion that girls balance better!
