It is always a pleasure to support the BBC’s Children in Need fundraiser and Willow Brook does it with superhero strength! It is a charity close to our hearts and helps our young people to be a community in action for children who might not have the opportunities and privileges that we so often take for granted.

Friday’s Heroes and Villains day certainly added pizzazz to the playground at 9 a.m.! Batgirls, Spidermen, Big Bad Wolves and Maleficents were there as a fun-raising tour de force and the rest of the day was full of spirit!

AS well as a costume parade and a Children in Need assembly, our mixed teams saw everyone off in search of the escaped Evil Peas from Supertato… There was a code to crack and vegetables to crush, which made the mushy peas we had for lunch a symbol of triumph!

After lots of superhero stories and dramas in the playground, we settled down to a film at our multi-screen movie theatre!

The most important part of the day was our fundraising total. As I write, we have just hit the £1,000 total, which is incredible. The Just Giving page is still open if you haven’t yet had chance to donate. Scan the QR code below.

For your sense of fun, superhero support and being a wonderful community, I thank you all… hero or villain!
