A rather special day at Keyworth Cricket Club today saw us retain the Cotton Tuckwell trophy for a 3rd year in a row!

After very positive performances in the morning versus St Edmund Campion and Tollerton, we were placed in a knockout group with Kinoulton, Keyworth and St Peters. After a great win vs Kinoulton, Willow Brook met St Peters in the Cotton Tuckwell Trophy final.

Losing the toss and being put in to bat, we knew we’d need runs on the board. 95 runs scored from our 10 overs was a good score, but it’d take top bowling and fielding to defend this total against a strong St Peters side. I am pleased to say that the performance all round was good enough as we restricted St Peters to 73 runs off their 1o overs, winning the game by 22 runs and retaining the trophy!

Our team (Jack, Fabian, Jasmin, Teddy, Isaac, Noah, Aniya and Edi) did myself and the school proud. All can look back knowing they have contributed to this fantastic tournament win, whether that be with bat, ball or in the field. A super day for Willow Brook and the trophy will continue to look pretty at the top of the cabinet!

Many thanks to Mrs Bugden for helping me out today. Her support towards the children was not unnoticed and we all appreciate your time and effort!

Lastly, thank you to the parents who came to support, your children have done you proud.
