At the beginning of the Euros, Willow Brook classes pulled three teams out of the hat. As well as following the teams in the tournament in Germany, it also put them in to a lottery to play in our own final match. When England were defeated by Spain last Sunday, Year 2 (representing Spain) were excited to be a part of the rematch on Monday morning… against the staff team.
Conditions were perfect. Edi in year 6 was the referee. Would the outcome be the same?
Whilst Southgate’s men came home from Germany empty handed, the staff at Willow Brook represented their nation in a far superior fashion! In spite of Rhys’s reflexes guarding the Spanish goal, England ultimately triumphed 4 – 2.! Mr. Litchfield had 72 shots on goal and as you can see from the photos was quite determined to win! Mrs. Bugden, Mrs. Ballard and Mr. Clarke added to the total, and Maxim and Kaya fought back for the Spanish.
Year 2 were tremendous… Everyone joined in. It was a happy morning in the Brook Arena.
