Our footballing campaign got off to a flying start for both boys and girls! As normal, the season started with two Saturday morning journeys to St Peters Junior School to compete in the Rushcliffe schools tournament.
The boys were first on Saturday, 7th September, and after an impressive performance during the warm up of what I can only describe as Pilates (not my idea!), the boys showed an even more impressive performance with a dominant win vs Keyworth Primary. With three challenging, but well spirited, games in between, we finished as we started with a win in the final game vs West Bridgford Juniors. A 2-1-2 return for the boys. I would have definitely taken that at the start.
The girls followed next on Saturday, 14th September, and after a tricky opening game against Pierrepont Gamston, they found their feet with super wins against West Bridgford Juniors and Robert Miles. Radcliffe unfortunately stopped things coming in threes, but our last game was a thriller against Greythorn that finished 2-2 resulting in the girls also having a return of 2-1-2!
There were so many positives to take from these early season tournaments for both teams. I am incredibly proud of their efforts and cannot wait for the season ahead.
Many thanks to parents for their incredible support and to Mr Boyd for coming to the girls tournament.
We have fantastic groups of year 5’s and 6’s attending training. We are going to have a good year.
