Year 3 and 4 returned last week from two fabulous days at the very grand Beaumanor Hall.
The two days were action packed and there were plenty of activities in the great outdoors to keep everyone challenged and busy! The children had to build a shelter in the woods which was wind and water proof – they survived the ‘rain’ test and most stayed dry. They also built land buggies using nuts, bolts, spanners, barrels and wooden beams. We all learnt about securing our buggies with ropes! The quality of the build was evaluated through a competitive race across the field. The children enjoyed other activities and games like orienteering and ‘hide and seek’ in the dark cellars. They were also treated to some fine dining in one of the grand rooms in the main Hall.
There was also time for a little sleep! The trip was enjoyed by all.
