Welcome back, here is the first learning letter of 2018
Here are a few of Mr Hallsworth's photos from our two Christmas performances.
It is always so wonderful to welcome the Salvation Army band to finish the term, and a joy to welcome a playground full of our Willow Brook family (past and present!) to celebrate through carols and festive songs. For me, it has always marked the start of Christmas and it's quite special to hear our [...]
Year 3 are full of talent and they proved it yet again by showing off their musical skills in an end of term concert. Mrs Price has been teaching the whole class (and Miss Brearey!) the violin and they treated their parents and the rest of the school to a rather special assembly full of [...]
We have had a wonderfully happy Children in Need Day at Willow Brook, full of fun and a seriously long money raising challenge! Our day started with a 'spot check' and prizes for the most outstanding costumes. As you can see, there were plenty of inventive outfits...from spotted dragons to Dalmatians and Pudsey Bears.... Many weapons were displayed for them to see and four different characters shared their experiences throughout the exhibition. Then it [...]
Thank you for joining us for our coffee morning! (or 'cake for breakfast day' as some of the children decided to call it!) With a lot of hard work from the Friends' team and some amazing bakes from you all, we raised over £433. Your support is, as ever, so appreciated.
The conker tree on the field is quite an amazing old Willow Brook addition! Our new children are quickly learning that in return for a bit of kindness, he'll shower down conkers... if, however, you tug his leaves and throw things high into his branches he's easily offended! As you can see he was more [...]
Thank you so much to all those who came and helped at last week's Potted Sports event! We had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting new parents as well as seeing the children work together and show such a cracking sense of community and care as they competed and encouraged each other.
