On Tuesday 12th November, 7 girls from Willow Brook’s chess club travelled to the Nottingham Girl’s High School to take part in a chess tournament. For some of the girls, this was the first time they had played in a competition so they were filled with excitement, nerves and a real sense of determination!
We were up against teams from Nottingham Girl High School and each player completed 3 games. There were some very close games and all girls did Willow Brook proud not just with their playing, but their excellent sportsmanship they showed throughout the evening. They’re now fully warmed up for our next competition happening later in the term and all learnt some important lessons when playing competitive chess…!
