This morning Miss Mistry taught the whole school about her Hindu faith. It’s an exciting time of the year… having just celebrated Navratri, it’s time to start the preparations for Diwali! We learnt all about the feasts and deities, dances and rituals and even got to admire Miss Mistry’s fabulous outfits – brought all the way from India by her Gran. We watched some videos of the Dandiya dance and were lucky enough to have a go ourselves! Year 2 even had a post-assembly masterclass! We know that Miss Mistry is now eagerly awaiting the start of Diwali on Monday – the festival of light!
