Our final whole-school topic of the year takes us into town! In the Hood is an eight-week project that sees us learning the history and geography of Nottinghamshire. We’ve already met Jesse Boot, visited Nottingham Castle and learnt all about the famous architecture designed by Watson Fothergill. There’s still so much more to learn!

Our launch morning saw us introduce two famous characters who have stood in our city since 1929… Agamemnon and Menelaus (less formally known as Leo and Oscar) the Lions guard the Council House and the more mature citizens amongst us will remember meeting friends and family ‘at the left lion’ when the buses used to stop there.

It seemed fitting that one of our home tasks was to go and meet Agamemnon and take a photograph. The pictures have been streaming in and are on display in the hall.
