Comic Relief Day at Willow Brook is always guaranteed to lift the spirits! From 200 children dressed in red (thank goodness for Forest tops!) and looking brilliant in the Charity’s caps, t-shirts and noses, to a live open mic comedy afternoon, there was bound to be a positive vibe!

Thanks to your donations, our Easter Egg raffle raised £225 and School Council did a fabulous job of creating tickets and collecting funds on the playground. There were 5 lucky winners.

Our morning sing included every one of the Red Nose Day songs from recent years, as well as a few happy tunes to rehearse our moves for the evening disco! You’ll see from the photos that the Cha Cha Slide always goes down well with the staff!

Children put their acts forward in auditions in their classrooms before lunch. What was performed in the final later in the afternoon was just wonderful!  Third place Golden Nose Awards were handed out to Rosie and Eden (Year 6), Oliver (Year 2) and Emmi T in EYFS. The runners up were a comedy group from Year 3 who delivered a very polished routine – great job, Darcey, Elizabeth, Alice, Ophelia and Harper! But there was an outright winning act in Joy and Rebecca in Year 6, who delivered Monty Python’s Dead Parrot sketch in a way that John Cleese would have applauded! What a treat!

Here are a few Red Nose smiles from the day.
