After a 4 year hiatus due to COVID, Class 1 and Class 2 were thrilled to be invited back to Time Travelling hosted at St Mary Magdalene’s church, Keyworth as part of churches together. We enjoyed carouselling around 4 different activities in the church: enjoying a biscuit and drink as part of the last supper; being part of a palm Sunday parade around the outside of the church building; reflecting on Christian prayer using a candle; making tissue paper flowers to put into a foam cross to take back to school. Our activities linked in well with our recent work in RE lessons leading up to the Easter holidays and the children were able to share their knowledge with the church volunteers. In preparation for this event, we had learnt 2 songs and were very proud to sing these in the church (complete with actions of course!) and impress the adults who were there.
A huge thank you to the parent and grandparent helpers for walking with us to and from school as well as assisting throughout the afternoon.
