Class 3 and 4 explored the beautiful forest of Camp Redwood at the end of last term. We had a super time doing lots of activities outdoors and the children loved every minute of it. As you can see from the pictures, there was plenty of laughter, exploring and a few less than impressed faces when shown the compost toilets!

Who better to tell you all about it, than one of the children themselves! In the words of George Odell, Class 3…

On Thursday, I woke up at 5:30am (which is pretty early!) in the morning. 2 and a half hours later, I had breakfast. I had very lovely pancakes then I went to school. I went up to school with my mum and dad I gave them a kiss and went to the line. I was very nervous for the day and night because I have never been away without my mum and dad before. When we got inside, Miss Brearey put Horrible Histories on. 10 minutes later, we went into the hall to sort our teams out for the day. I was with Cameron and Alice from my class and our leader was Mr Jones. On the coach, I sat with Harry Herrick and it took 45 minutes to get to Camp Redwood. Finally, we got there and everybody was buzzing with excitement. our first activity was fire lighting with Richard. I worked with Cameron and Alice. It was really hard but Cameron lit it. For lunch, I had 4 ham sandwiches and some quavers (by the way, Thursday was Harry’s birthday!). In the afternoon, we did shelter building then it was dinner. I had chicken nuggets and chips. Around the campfire, we played guess who and sang silly songs.

Fore breakfast, I had cheerios, shreddies and toast. It was very nice. We only did 2 activities in the afternoon because we were very slow! For lunch, I had a chocolate spread sandwich. We got on the coach and I sat with Jake. It felt like 5 minutes on the way back to school.
