Willow Brook, you are, without doubt, a school to be proud of! This Friday’s Red Nose Day was a massive success, thanks to your baking skills, your fabulous attitude when it comes to having fun, your willingness to dress up and take part and your incredible generosity. Even Mrs Roper (who doesn’t normally work on a Friday) couldn’t resist joining in!
Your Snuffle’s money boxes came back duly decorated and filled to the brim! What’s more, there were some lovely messages written on them about how much you had taken from your pocket money and bank accounts – it made me very happy to read them all.
During the day we sang (and did some rather spectacular dance moves to) all of the Red Nose Day songs, ate cakes, took part in the Great Dahl Quiz, ate more cakes, enjoyed playtimes in the spring sunshine, ate the last of the cakes and then finished the day off with the school disco! Year 6 also welcomed Nic Sellar who works for The Friends of Kadzinuni who talked to them about how charities work and showed them how the funds raised turns into some incredible actions.
Year 6 also did a great job manning the cake tables and sorting the money boxes and were as staggered as I was to find out we had raised just under £700 ! (By Monday I am sure we will have more!) An amazing amount raised by some amazing young people.
Thank you everyone for making Red Nose Day 2017 a fun filled, memorable day.
