It has been two days of adventure so far for our Year 5 and 6 children at Duke’s Barn in Derbyshire this week. Yesterday was full of canoeing, mountaineering, stream scrambling, abseiling and high wire activity…not to mention an outdoor evening of field games and play! Everyone was tucked up by 10pm… but apparently the final eye shut shortly before 1am! After a hearty full English breakfast, Tuesday kicked in and several sleepy children said very little over their bacon and eggs! After a second day of fresh air and adventure I imagine tonight might be a little quieter…but then again….!

As always, our staff are full of stamina and praise for your wonderful children who make adventures away such a pleasure to organise. Mrs Myring described the group last night as being ‘amazing’ and that makes me very ‘Willow Brook proud’. We have missed Miss Hackett, Mrs Myring, Miss Johnston and Mrs Graham at school over the last couple of days…but I guess there are some little people you are missing quite a lot, too!
